Hey Everyone, Well, this is it – my last email. I never thought I'd make it to the end of my mission, but I made it through, and I'm so glad I did. This last week was super awesome. One of our friends, Oretha, was able to get baptized, and it was incredible to see her finally receive the sacrament. We had 2 exchanges, and I enjoyed both of them and learned a lot from both of the Elders I served with. We taught one of the most powerful lessons of my mission to a man named Toby. He's just super prepared, and the spirit was undeniable. As I reflect back on these two years, my heart swells with gratitude. Serving in Liberia was definitely challenging, but it's the greatest mission on earth, and I'm so happy I was called to serve these wonderful people. They taught me so many valuable lessons. They taught me how to be humble and how to love God. I hope and pray that I'll be able to do those two things throughout the rest of my life. I just want to leave you with my t...

Hey guys! Hope you are all doing well and enjoying summer!! In liberia the rainy season is here so all day we walk with umbrellas and rain boots!  This past week was a solid one. We did a lot of teaching and we have 3 friends who are preparing for baptism on the 8th of July! We have Oretha who lives with one of the families in our ward. We have Ol ma Betty and she started coming to church because her son who lives in Ghana said she needs to start coming so she did and she's killing it haha. And last we have my boy Bobby. He was a referral from our Bishop's wife and is just so prepared to live the restored gospel! I just wanted to share an experience we had this week while we were out teaching. We planned to go and visit an In-active member but she wasn't home but her sister ended up being there so we just sat with her. Her name is Rebecca and she knows a lot about the church but has never been baptized. We felt impressed to read the Book Of Mormon with her so we opened up t...

Hey Everyone,  Just wanted to check in with ya and let you all know how things went this week. I went to my last MLC and had my 2nd to last interview with President Thomas. Pretty sad that I won't be able to be around that guy. He's a great example to me and he's taught me a lot of important things. We were able to have a meeting with our bishop and a couple we are teaching and we talked about the importance of marriage. It went really well and we hope to start the process of getting a marriage certificate in the coming weeks so that was exciting!! Tonight I was washing dishes and my companion walked in and told me that his father wanted to speak to me. I got a little nervous but said okay. We had a great conversation and at the end he told me he loved me. I thought to myself "I don't even know this guy but he said he loves me." Throughout my mission as i've tried my best to serve the Lord every day i've learned the importance of showing love and even ...

Last 5 Weeks

Hey everyone, Just wanted to send a quick little update and let you know whats going on in Liberia. I got a new companion and he is also my LAST companion. How crazy is that??? His name is Elder Sam and he's from Nigeria. I've only got 5 more weeks to go and its really starting to hit home that I will soon be leaving LIB. Im not quite sure how i feel about it but i guess I'll just continue to do my best till the end. As I've been pondering over my time as a missionary I have been able to record a few of the important truths that the Lord has taught me. And i just wanted to share one of them with you. And it is that EACH ONE OF US IS A BELOVED SON OR DAUGHTER OF A LOVING HEAVENLY FATHER!! I grew up my whole life hearing that but i never understood it or the power that accompanies it. When i first got to Liberia quickly realized that i wasnt strong enough or tough enough to do it on my own so i had to learn how to trust in the Lord and rely on His strength. As I came to u...

Hey everyone! Sorry, it has been so long since I reached out to you guys! I don't really have an excuse, so all I can say is sorry. Well, a lot of stuff has happened since I last wrote an email. First, I got transferred to a new area called Logantown. My new companion is Elder Anderson, and he is such a STUD. He is also a great example to me, and I've definitely gained a lot of knowledge from him. I only spent 6 weeks in my last area, and I've been thinking and pondering about why I was even sent there. That area was the least productive and most challenging area I've been in. I didn't really feel like I was making much of a difference. When I got news I was getting transferred, I was sad because I felt like I hadn't accomplished much. I didn't have a spiritual lesson the whole time I was there. But the LAST lesson we taught was with a woman named Mariamma. Her daughter was baptized earlier that day, and after the baptism, she agreed to meet with us. So we w...

Hey Everyone,  Sorry it's been so long. I just wanted to reach out and let ya know how things are going. I left chocolate city which was really hard. I feel like I grew a lot in that area and I met so many wonderful people who I grew close to. I'm in a new area called St. Paul, and my new companion is Elder Mulangu from DRC. He's a funny guy and makes me laugh a lot. This new area is far less productive and it's been a challenge to adjust back to a slower area. The ward has its fair share of challenges and we will work to strengthen it.  I really loved general conference.  I loved just about every talk but a few that stood out to me were of course President Nelsons, and Elder Cook's. Ever since I've been on my mission I've been working to be more kind and loving. It's not easy because sometimes people do things that really tick you off and cause you to be annoyed. I'm sure Christ thinks the same thing when he looks down and sees us doing something si...

Hey everyone, Hope everyone is doing great!! Things are going well here in L-I-B!! Missionary work is moving along smoothly and we've been exceedingly blessed. Okay so I have some BIG NEWS!! A few weeks ago President Thomas informed the mission that on February 23rd Elder D. Todd Christofferson will be coming to visit Liberia!!! He will meet with our mission for 2 hours and then he will have a big meeting for all the members in Monrovia later that day!! What a blessing!! We've been preparing as a mission to be in-tune with the spirit so that when Christofferson comes we will be able to receive the Revelation that Heavenly Father wants to give us. I CANNOT WAIT to hear an Apostle of the Lord speak!! We also had a mini zone Conference this past Friday and our whole zone traveled to the mission office for it. President Thomas gave the most amazing instruction on Repentance. For most of my life I've always struggled with the idea of repentance. The idea of being forgiven and ha...
