Hey guys,

I'll start off by saying sorry. I've had no motivation to write emails lately and I've been busy the last few p-days so I'll blame it on that haha.

Anyway, things have been lovely here in Old Road. We've  been blessed with a few baptisms recently and we also had an addition to our companionship. Elder Kongolo has been with us for the last couple of weeks and I've really enjoyed him. He is one of those people who has the funniest laugh so when he laughs I laugh and it's just a good time

So a little more about Elder Kongolo. Probably 6 weeks ago he was playing soccer at a zone activity and he broke his femur so he was in the office for about a month and they felt like he needed to get out and proselyte so he came with us. We had to slow down a little bit so we couldn't really teach as much but it was still a ton of fun so I'll miss him when he leaves.

Last P-day we got together and played basketball which was so fun!! We played with just the missionaries at first but then the Liberians wanted to play the "white men." They were pretty darn sure they were going to destroy us but once we actually started to try we killed them. Haha they were in shock. What made it even more fun is Elder Houston from Kanab who I played against in high school came and we got to play on the same team.

As far as my spiritual thought goes, I just finished reading Doctrine and Covenants. I was writing in my journal what stood out to me and I thought maybe I'd share some with you guys. 1- Joseph Smith was a true prophet. I can't believe that someone who was "pretending" to be a prophet could write something like that. I KNOW that Joseph was truly called of God and assisted the Savior in restoring His church back on the earth. 2- I learned how merciful and loving God truly is. The early saints and even Joseph himself had flaws just like us. We often think that those first saints were amazing and never did anything wrong but think again because they definitely did!! But look at the church today! Christ used those imperfect people to build something amazing. And finally 3- I felt the spirit confirm to me that life goes on after death. Our family members who have passed on are in the spirit world doing missionary work. Teaching those who never received or never accepted the gospel. That alone also shows how merciful and loving God is.

As I pondered life after death I had a thought come to my mind. Why would we wait for the next life to repent or to accept the restored gospel? Let us choose to follow the Savior in this life so we can receive God's blessings now.

I think I've rambled on long enough. But in closing, today is transfers and my companion got transferred and I'm kinda bummed he left and I didn't. But there's something here in Old Road that I need to do for the Savior so I'll put my head down and work for the next 6 weeks. I miss you guys
