District Conference And A General Authority??

Hey everyone hope you had a great week!!

 

 

So we had a good week here in kakata. We're teaching a lot still and have some people who are really progressing.

 

 

I would just like to tell a little story about Nancy. We have known Nancy for a while but she has never really shown any real interest. We felt like maybe we should call her and see if we could come and visit her so we did. We reviewed the Restoration and taught her about the Book of Mormon. She opened up to us and said "I don't feel comfortable with the Book of Mormon because people I've been talk with say it's demonic!" And we heard that a lot last week. A lot of the pastors here tell their congregations that the "Latter Day Saints and their bible are demonic." We explained to Nancy that the Book of Mormon's purpose is to bring people to Christ. And help them understand the Savior and the love he has for his children. We could see Nancy's heart change as we read our favorite verses from the Book of Mormon and we could really feel the spirit. So after that we invited her to church and she said "maybe." Haha 

 

 

We got up Sunday and got ready for District conference. As we were getting ready we got a call from Nancy that she was coming!!!!! It was awesome to see her at church!!! The Book of Mormon has the power to change people's hearts. They just have to be willing to read it. Also we had a Area 70 come to our District conference!! He had a crazy name that I can't remember but it was really awesome he had a strong testimony!!
