Familiar Faces And Pancakes!!
Tuesday- Today was a solid day! I got up and made pancakes and they weren't perfect but they were wonderful! Haha after that we went and taught our friend Esther! Esther has been progressing well and she accepted an invitation to be baptized so I look forward to that!! After that we went home to wait for Elder Mukonda's new companion. And this is sooooo crazy!! His new companion is Elder Shakespeare from Kanab!!!! I played against Elder Shakespear in football and basketball!! So crazy that two kids from small towns in southern Utah could end up on the same mission in Liberia and live together in the same apartment!! Fun stuff! Other than that we taught a few more lessons that were all good!
Wednesday- Today was a solid day! We taught 5 lessons. We met with Andrew first. Andrew stopped us on the street a few days ago and wanted us to come meet him. We were able to teach him the restoration and he was very interested and asked if he could come to church!! Things went well with him so I'm excited! After Andrew we taught a few more lessons and had BOM class. Nobody came this week so we played the keyboard haha! After that we taught Dollar and Matthew Fallah. These two young men are awesome and are progressing very well!
Thursday- Today was our District Council, it was good as always! After that we met with the Elders quorum president and we headed out for the day! We taught 4 lessons today! Our first lesson was with Naomi Paul. Naomi Paul is an interesting lady but I love her! She has such a happy spirit. She has been struggling to attend church but she has a desire to get baptized so we've been trying to encourage her. She came this Sunday out of the blue!!! Me and Elder Yemoh were stoked!! So we went and visited her today and she seems a little more serious now and I don't know why!! Haha but I'm grateful! We finished out the night by teaching a couple of new people. Aaron and Joyce. They both went well!!
Friday- Today we taught Andrew, and I'm really excited for him. He asks a lot of good questions and he has been reading his BOM and said he will be coming to church so hopefully things co continue to go well with him. After that we taught more lessons. We're still hopeful for Love and Mercy to progress! Liberians have a hard time finding the desire to sit down and read. We invite them to read only a few verses and they tell us they will then we go back and they tell us they didn't! Haha its definitely frustrating but we'll keep trying!
Saturday- Today was slow. The branch had a fireside today so all of the people we wanted to teach said they were "getting ready for the fireside" haha so it was a tough day but we got 4 lessons in I think! The fireside was awesome!! They had a big crowd and lots of good food! We sadly had lessons so we couldn't stay for the whole thing but it went well so that's awesome!
Sunday- Well today was GREAT!! We had 15 investigators come to sacrament meeting!!! It was so awesome to see them all! After sacrament we were supposed to have a district meeting so we walked a good 30 minutes to the branch 2 building and when we got there they said "it's postponed" so we walked all that way for nothing! Haha after that we had a lesson with Fatu and she's all ready for baptism next week! After that we met with Morris and he's all ready for baptism too! So next week we should have 3 baptisms. We were supposed to baptize Princess this week but the generator is still broke down so we had to push her back another week so frustrating!! But hopefully they get it fixed for next week!!
Overall this week flew by!!! Our friends that we are teaching are all doing well and I'm excited for them! I'm so grateful for my Savior Jesus Christ and his atonement!! Jesus Christ performed the atonement for all of his children because he loves us. And I know that if we use it in our lives we will be able to overcome the sin, weaknesses, and problem we all have in our lives. I love you all and pray that you're doing well!!
