First Baptism And FuFu

Hey everyone!!

Well this week has been pretty solid! We were able to put one of our investigators on date to be baptized!! Her name is Princess and she is so nice and loves to learn about the gospel! So I'm excited for her!!

Our days here are super busy!! We teach probably 6 lessons a day, so we just run from house to house trying to meet with investigators. It's a blessing though it keeps my mind focused on other things. On Friday we had to go to a meeting in Monrovia which is probably 2 hours from where I am in Kakata. So we had to find taxis that would take us there and that was an adventure!! Haha the first taxi we took was a little Nissan SUV it would normally hold 5 people but we put 8 people in!! We had the 5 up front then 3 guys in the trunk!! And the driver and passengers seats were laid back pretty far so it was hard for me to even fit in the car! The we took a KK. A KK is a little tiny taxi with 3 wheels, it's actually a pretty sweet little rig! We finally made it to Monrovia and our meetings were very good!

I just wanted to tell you guys about the meal one of the members fed us the other night. Its called FUFU. It looks like bread dough, but it's definitely not bread dough haha! It's made from leaves and some other stuff but you take the fufu and dip it in soup. The soup had chicken feet and fish in it! It was so gross!!!! My companion ate all he could because I couldn't even stand to put it in my mouth! Sadly I didn't get a picture!! Other than FuFu the food here is actually really good and I'm starting to like it a lot.

The thing I love most about being here is going to church. I love watching the members walk in. They walk miles just to get to church, and they're always so happy and excited to attend their meetings! The spirit they bring is so strong and you can feel their testimonies. Its so amazing!! I've learned that it doesn't matter where you are physically the spirit can always be with you. It doesn't matter if you're in a congregation of 200 people  or in a small branch of 50.

I'm picking up more of the language everyday and I feel like I'm finally getting settled in to my area. I hope you all are doing well!! I miss you guys like crazy!!
