Called To Serve

Today you opened your mission call.  I remember being told that it would take 4 to 5 weeks so I thought we had a lot more time!  It had only been about 10 days!!  So many emotions were running through my heart!!  I was excited and scared and happy and sad all at the same time.  I knew that sending you on a mission to serve the Lord was exactly what we had raised you to do but why did it have to come so fast?  These years have flown right by and I'm not ready for you to go!  You had put you weren't interested in learning a language so how bad could it be?  You would go somewhere stateside where Amazon Prime delivered and it would be ok, we could do this!  The time finally came and we had a special group of friends, family and important people in your life gathered together at our home.  The balloons were hung and the guesses on the map had been made, you were the first in your class to receive your call so everyone was so excited.  Our hearts were pounding as you opened the call on your computer and began reading, I admit, I didn't hear much until you said the Liberia, Monrovia Mission.  What?? Where is that?? What?? It's in Africa!!  Wait a second, they don't speak English in Africa, this cannot be happening!!  Surely Amazon Prime doesn't deliver to Africa!!!  "How could this be happening?" my mom heart was screaming!!  But it did happen.  You were called to the exact place Heavenly Father needed you, at the exact time you were needed and somehow it was going to be okay!!  I know this will be a hard thing you have been asked to do but more rewarding than anything in the world!  Teaching Heavenly Father's children in Africa, what an adventure.  We are so proud of your choice to serve and that you are willing and able to go!  We could not have been blessed with a better son, we are grateful and love you so much!!
